This is Todd with Todd A Hess Painting Company. I’m coming to you today. I will talk about three trends that we believe 2023 will bring.
Non-traditional Paint Colors on the Ceilings
We have seen that you’re probably going to start seeing people use non-traditional paint colors on the ceilings. We’re talking about grays and darker colors. Agreeable Gray is one I can come right off the head with. We’ve now had two customers using Agreeable Gray on their ceilings.
Dark Trim
We think that that will also bring a trend of seeing more dark trim return. That was something back in the nineties that people did, and everything is always coming back again. So we’ve seen a lot of white trim being the standard. Now you’ll see a little push into the darker trim colors.
I think we’ve seen this already on the exterior of homes. We’re seeing a lot more black windows and a lot more black trim on the outside. We probably will start seeing that trend a little bit on the inside. It’s probably not going to stick to blacks, though. It’s probably going to go into maybe darker beiges and maybe even grays.
Light Walls
With that dark trim and dark ceiling on the walls, you’ll probably have those walls opened up with lighter, more natural colors. People are probably going to shy away from bold colors on walls.
